How much does website development cost in India?
Website quotes in India vary enormously because “website” can mean anything from a one-page brochure to a custom SaaS platform. The useful way to budget is to match the price to the scope, design depth, functionality, and engineering work involved.

Quick market reference
Landing page / simple brochure site
₹15,000–₹50,000
Small campaigns, basic portfolios, or simple business presence with limited custom functionality.
Custom business / corporate website
₹40,000–₹1,50,000+
Custom design, multiple page types, CMS needs, responsive implementation, forms, analytics, and SEO foundations.
E-commerce website
₹80,000–₹3,00,000+
Product catalog, payments, checkout, customer accounts, inventory or logistics integrations, and custom merchandising.
Custom web application / SaaS
₹2,50,000+
Authentication, dashboards, workflows, databases, integrations, permissions, product UX, and ongoing engineering.
These are broad 2026 market-reference ranges seen across current Indian agency pricing guides, not a Social Linker rate card. Real quotes can sit below or above them depending on scope and quality level.
What actually changes website development cost?
The biggest cost drivers are not the number of buzzwords in the technology stack. They are the amount of unique design work, number of page or screen types, content complexity, integrations, backend logic, data models, user roles, testing requirements, and how much iteration the project needs.
1. Template website vs custom design
Template-based work is faster and cheaper because much of the layout and interaction design already exists. Custom work costs more because the information architecture, visual system, responsive behavior, components, and page experience are designed around the business instead of adapted from a generic theme.
2. Marketing website vs web application
A marketing website primarily communicates and converts. A web application has product logic: accounts, permissions, dashboards, saved data, workflows, payments, integrations, or complex states. Once those systems appear, the project becomes software engineering, not just page development.
3. Design quality and conversion work
A site can technically “work” while still being weak at explaining the offer, building trust, or guiding a visitor toward action. Positioning, UX, content hierarchy, responsive details, and conversion decisions add meaningful work but often determine whether the finished site actually supports the business.
4. SEO foundations and performance
Technical SEO is easier and cheaper to do correctly during the build than to retrofit later. Crawlable internal links, page-specific metadata, canonical URLs, structured data, sitemap configuration, semantic headings, image handling, and performance should be part of the implementation rather than treated as an afterthought.
How to compare two website quotes
- — Compare deliverables, not just the final number.
- — Ask how many unique page or screen designs are included.
- — Clarify whether copy, UI/UX, development, SEO setup, analytics, and deployment are included.
- — Check what happens when scope changes.
- — Ask who owns the code, design files, domain, and hosting accounts.
- — Confirm post-launch support and maintenance expectations.
Social Linker pricing approach
Social Linker does not use a one-size-fits-all website price list. We scope the actual work — strategy, design, number of page types, development complexity, integrations, and launch requirements — then provide a tailored quotation.
If you already have a brief, share it through the project quote form and we can scope the work around what you actually need.
